- Remove the Top. Remove the screw packet and label from the inside of the Metal Can Insert and set aside.
- Place the Mounting Bracket onto the mounting surface with the hole facing down. Recommended height from the floor to the bottom of the mounting bracket is 38 inches.
- 6 holes are provided for varied mounting options. Screw in. Either 4 outside holes or 2 center holes are the minimum requirement. Pre-drill holes with wall anchors may be required as well as longer #10 screws. Caution: Do not over tighten the screws.
- Slide the “male” dovetail on the back of the Body down through the “female” dovetail in the Mounting Bracket.
- Place the Metal Can Insert inside the Body.
- Push Top firmly down onto the Body. Caution: It is important that the Top fits snugly into the Body. Loose fit could result in unit failure. DO NOT USE if there is not a snug fit. Call Distributor for a replacement unit.
- Place “Cigarette Butts Only –No Trash” label on front of Unit Body.Note: All applicable state and local building codes need to be followed pertaining to this product. Because of the possibility of smoldering material, dispose of contents within the Metal Can Insert regularly and appropriately. Metal Can Insert maybe hot. Clean with hot water and detergent to prevent tar build up and odor.

- Remove the Top. Remove the screw packet and label from the inside of the Metal Can Insert and set aside.
- Traditional mounting method for 4 inch and 6 inch post covers, requires drill with #2 Phillips driver. Place the Mounting Bracket onto the post with hole facing down. Recommended height from the floor to the bottom of the mounting bracket is 38 inches.
- Place a self-tapping screw into one of the 2 top holes. Screw into post.
- Repeat the above for the remaining 3 outside holes. Non-traditional mounting on other material may require drilling an 1/8 inch pilot hole as well as longer #10 screws. Caution: Do not over tighten the screws.
- Slide the “male” dovetail on the back of the Body down through the “female” dovetail in the Mounting Bracket.
- Place the Metal Can Insert inside the Body.
- Push Top firmly down onto the Body. Caution: It is important that the Top fits snugly into the Body. Loose fit could result in unit failure. DO NOT USE if there is not a snug fit. Call Distributor for a replacement unit.
- Place “Cigarette Butts Only –No Trash” label on front of Unit Body.

- Push Top firmly down onto the Body. Caution: It is important that the Top fits snugly into the Body. Loose fit could result in unit failure. DO NOT USE if there is not a snug fit. Call distributor for a replacement unit.
- Place unit on a steel or polyethylene 55 gallon open head drum.
- Place “Cigarette Butts Only –No Trash” label on front of Unit Body. Place arrow facing toward cigarette butt opening.

Butt Catcher Smoke-Free Column
No installation is necessary for the Smoke-Free Column. Simply place the unit where you would like.
