Powder Coated Guardrail

Recently Pepsi Bottling needed a modified guardrail for their distribution center. Ideal Shield prides itself on being able to work with customers to find solutions that meet their requirements.

The customer still wanted the protection and durability Ideal Shield’s guardrail offers but wanted a powder coated system. We were able to build the traditional guardrail unit minus the plastic covering and had it powder coated safety yellow for high visibility.

The customer was very pleased with the finished product because not only did it protect their valuable assets but it also met their requirements.

Custom guardrail in a rush

Customer Need:
A parking garage on Lawrence St. in Brooklyn NY needed guardrail protection to avoid damage to walls. Their requirements included using the strongest guardrail protection available, a maintenance free product and something that could withstand multiple hits. They also need a custom length and needed them as quickly as possible.

Ideal Shield Solution:
In order to get the job out as quickly as possible Ideal Shield helped determine the custom length that best suited their requirements and ensured it would install quickly and correctly. Careful coordination with the shop got the job out early much to the customers delight.

Protecting Patients and Truck Docks

At the Portsmouth Regional Hospital Ideal Shield heavy guardrail was installed at the truck dock to keep trucks from backing up into the building. This was needed for several reasons – one being the need to protect the dock from damage as multiple trucks hit it but more importantly surgery takes place on the second floor and any movement in the building could put a surgery in jeopardy.

This piece of guardrail is placed far enough away from the building to stop the truck trailer from hitting wall and is strong enough to withstand multiple hits. The rail was also modified to increase the strength of the heavy guardrail; a third post was added and the unit was installed in 46″ deep floor sleeves.

Customer Need
Our customer needed to protect electrical boxes in a parking garage at a retirement community and wanted extra strength from our already strong guardrail. They have trouble with people putting their cars in drive not reverse and hitting the walls.

We added an additional post to the middle of the ten foot section of guardrail to add even more stopping power.

Unique Guardrail Application

Each facility has its own unique guardrail needs. Ideal Shield works with customers to fit their unique needs – anything from guardrail set on a grade to custom heights.

In this particular case our client needed removable guardrail for its drop down pits within the train and flatbed trailer loading docks.

Solution
Each guardrail section, made of six inch schedule 40 rails and four inch schedule 80 posts and sleeved in HDPE, is removable. Utilizing a cored in system the sections can be picked up by a forklift and dropped into steel sleeves attached to each guardrail section for temporary storage.
