3 Reasons to Make Fall Protection a Priority

Recently we have seen an upswing in the installation of Roof Rail systems. When thinking about safety and protection barriers most people think of handrails and guardrails, but Roof Rails?  As one of our dealers asked, “Why are people spending money on that?  We have found there are a few good reasons:

First and foremost –Safety: Simply put, the best reason to install any barrier system is that it keeps employees safe.  The last thing any business wants to see happen is a severe injury or death due to a fall.  Because safety is such an important factor, there is always money in the budget.  Even with the push to be as frugal as possible, this is one area where it doesn’t pay to cut corners. Roof Top Safety

Recently Ideal Shield was presented with a situation where employees were working on a roof with no fall protection in place. Fall protection was needed but the customer was concerned that there was nowhere on the roof to side mount the rails and surface mounting was out of the question because of the potential for water leaking through the roof.

Ideal Shield satisfied the customer’s need by providing them with our 42″ high roof rail system that uses 95 lb counter weighted base plates that do not need to be bolted down to any part of the roof and satisfies all OSHA requirements.
