Help Protect Schools and Students with Safety Bollards

School safety has become one of the most polarizing topics in this country. Attacks on schools and students have become a normal occurrence for American life but it doesn’t mean that it needs to continue. Protection is needed. And though we may not all agree on the exact ways of protection, we can all agree that something needs to be done.

While everyone is focusing on one-type of weapon, in terms of carrying out attacks on schools, there’s another weapon that can cause massive damage as well: vehicles.

All across the world, car ramming attacks have caused some of the most terrorizing events in the news. From New York City to Barcelona, vehicular attacks have claimed the lives of several individuals in some of the most vulnerable places on earth, including sidewalks, walking/biking paths, outdoor events, and public gathering areas. It’s become a disgusting trend that is finally starting to see some action in the way of protective steel pipe bollard barriers

Hundreds of thousands of these steel bollards are being installed at vulnerable locations around the world to stop and deter future car ramming attacks. But one spot that may be getting overlooked is schools.

From kindergartens to college campuses, there aren’t many places that have more vulnerable areas than a school. Whether it’s parent drop-off areas, bus stops, parking lots, playgrounds or other outdoor gathering areas, schools see some of the most foot and vehicle traffic on a daily basis. And, sadly enough, these areas are prime targets for potential attacks. That is why it’s time to be proactive with protection for students and teachers.

Placing protection bollards around schools is something that will both protect and deter potential attacks or car accidents. Some of the keys spots for these bollards to be installed include all entrances to the school, primary walkways, bus loops and bus stops, playground areas, parent drop-off areas, and any other popular area for students or teachers to congregate.
