Like the Guardrail, Ideal took the same innovative idea to safety Handrail systems. Sleeving U.S. steel pipe to eliminate painting needs, the Steel Pipe & Plastic Handrail system was sold all over the country, lining everything from machinery areas, employee walkways, catwalks, stairways, roofs, and more. But some customers were looking for a little more ornamental, aesthetically pleasing railing. Specialty Bollards
Being the top Bollard Cover supplier in the country, the need for different types of Bollards followed the popularity of the covers. While Ideal has been supplying standard Bollards for two decades, the need for different types of Safety Bollards grew. From Removable Locking Bollards to Collapsible Locking Bollards, temporary options were needed for pedestrian friendly areas. But with the uptick in storefront crashes and safety requirements, Ideal Shield got into the Crash Rated Bollard game over the last 5-10 years. Collaborating with Barrier1 Systems, Ideal helped create a storefront specific barrier known as the C40 Traffic Impact Bollard.
Another big need found in the Bollard game was flexibility. Over the years, Ideal has had different Flexible Bollard options but a more industrial-strength option kept coming up from customers. So, the engineering team at Ideal Shield worked to create a new Bounce Back Bollard that is designed to withstand a full-sized forklift impact by only moving 18 degrees, allowing end users to place these flexible barriers closer to critical assets and walkways.

Simple but Smart Solutions
Ideal has been utilizing plastic over painting since its inception.
