Here are some of the most popular ways to installing bollards: 

Surface Mounted 

The quickest and easiest way to install a bollard is to buy Base Plated Bollards. With the right sized drill bit and power drill, you can quickly drill the holes, add the proper anchors, and you will have a fully installed bollard post at any location. Ideal Shield offers multiple sized Base Plate Bollards as well as multiple base plate options to meet your specific needs.

Cored-In 

If you’re putting straight pipe into the ground with stronger application needs, the Cored-In installation is the way to go. This installation will depend on the ground you’re working with, the depth of the concrete/freeze line, the location, and more. This is where we suggest contacting a local contractor but making sure to contact us about using Bollard Caddy’s to speed up the process.

Trench & Pour 

For larger bollards, rated bollards, or more in-depth installation, Trench installation may be the way to go. This is typically used for a line of bollards and used for bollards that require larger footings or added strength below ground. Another installation process we suggest contacting a local contractor to handle.

Sonotube 

The Sonotube is a cardboard concrete forming tube that is perfect for in-ground bollard installation as you can get the best of both worlds. Your local contractor can use this style of install to trench out the area before using the Sonotube to keep the individual pipe installation simple and clean.
